The objective of the AMF project is the creation of a new Model Forest in the Croatian Region of Dalmatia by implementing the “Five steps methodology” of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network.
The partner responsible for the creation of the Model forest through five technical workshops that will take place at the pilot site in Dalmatia is the Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation from Split. All AMF partners will benefit from this learning process and they will be able to facilitate the start-up of local Model Forest initiatives and related processes in the partner’s countries, regions and territories.
Partners responsible for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the Model Forest creation process are the Croatian Forest Research Institute and the Faculty of Forestry in Sarajevo. Partners responsible for the communication and dissemination are Region of Epirus-Regional Unit of Thesprotia-Greece and Institute of forestry-Belgrade, Serbia. The Croatian Forest Research Institute already coordinated the process of creation of the Model Forest “River Mirna Basin”, the first Model Forest initiative in Croatia.
