Description: 

CAP: 3-12 cm, dry surface, often depressed on older specimen, the cap margin is slightly bent and curvy. It has a strong orange colour or with white bits, but white or pale yellow specimen can also be found frequently.
GILLS/LEAFLETS: It has gill-like ridges that branch out and run almost all the way down the stalk. The gill colour is yellow or orange-yellow.
STIPE: Irregular, full, hard and smooth, usually short. of the same colour as the cap or lighter.
FLESH: White, compact, hard, tough. Agreeable odour, fruity, individuals say it reminds them of beaches or plums. The flesh has a sweet taste.

Usage:
One of the most appreciated and best tasting edible mushrooms. It has a long tradition of harvesting, well known among the population. Rich in vitamin C. Due to the toughness of the flesh it is slightly more difficult for digestion. Suitable for many different ways of preparation, suitable for drying and pickling.
